What's included

Three things,
one ticket.

One price covers the show, the food and the drinks — tax and service charge already included. The only extra is a seat, if you want one.

The TUNASHOGUN team with a whole bluefin tuna
01 — The Show

A whole tuna,
cut in front of you

An entire bluefin is broken down live, an arm's length away. No stage, no barrier — you stand right at the counter while it happens. Film as much as you like.

02 — The Food

10 courses,
then all you can eat

A ten-course tuna menu from the fish you just watched being cut. When the courses are done, keep ordering nigiri, rare cuts, rolls, hand rolls and nakaochi — until they run out.

Guests hold out their cups as sake is poured from the tuna head
03 — The Drinks

All you can drink,
sake included

Japanese sake, beer, highballs, umeshu, wine and soft drinks — all included in the price. Plus the tuna shot: sake poured straight through the tuna's head.

How the night goes

7PM
to 9:30 PM.

Doors open at 7PM and the tuna comes out at 7:15. Here is what happens, in order.

7:15 PM

The tuna arrives

A whole bluefin is carried in and laid out in front of the room. This is the fish you will be eating tonight.

7:20 PM

The blade goes in

The head comes off, then the body is opened with a blade longer than your arm. It takes real force, and you are close enough to hear it.

Cutting in behind the head of the tuna
7:30 PM

You scrape the nakaochi

Guests are handed a spoon and take the nakaochi — the meat between the bones — straight off the spine. You eat what you scrape.

7:40 PM

The tuna shot

Sake is poured through the tuna's head and straight into your mouth. It is exactly as ridiculous as it sounds, and it is the shot everyone posts.

8:00 PM

Sushi, course after course

The rare cuts first, then sukiyaki, akami to otoro, and the SHOGUN roll. Refills open at 9:00 PM, which is also the last drink order. We close at 9:30 PM.

Questions

Good to ask.

Do I need to speak Japanese?

No. There are English-speaking staff and an English menu, and the show is something you watch and eat rather than something you have to follow.

Is the tuna really cut during the show?

Yes. A whole bluefin is broken down live, in the room, every time. What you eat that night comes from that fish.

Are there seats?

The event is standing by default. If you would like a seat, it costs +¥1,000 per person at the counter, +¥2,000 at a table or +¥3,000 on a sofa. Choose your seat type (Standing, Counter, Table or Sofa) under “Category” on the booking form, and pay the seat charge at the venue on the day. Seats are limited.

Can I bring children?

Yes, as long as each child orders the same course as the adults. With small children, we can only take the booking as a private hire of the whole venue — please call us on +81 3-6459-2616.

Can I come alone?

Yes. Solo guests are welcome, and the standing format makes it easy to end up talking to the people next to you.

What if I don't drink alcohol?

The all-you-can-drink plan includes oolong tea, green tea, orange juice and cola at the same price.

How do I pay?

You pay by credit card when you book. Anything extra on the day is cashless, and cash is not accepted in the restaurant.

What if my dates are sold out?

Dates do sell out. Leave your email at the bottom of this page and we will tell you when new dates are released.

Where exactly is it?

SUSHIROKU Roppongi, on the 4th floor of Vort Roppongi Briller Kaleido, 3-14-14 Roppongi — two minutes from Roppongi Station. Open in Google Maps.
